Batman #6
Great chapter, but the overall effect isn't what I expected. Batman looks to have transformed into a creature of the night due to his imprisonment, and faces Talon and the Court with savagery and an indomitable will. It's awesome. The Court, unusually, doesn't appear to be a bunch of aristocrats controlling Gotham from behind the scenes, but a cave-dwelling group of crazies. I could be wrong and it's just how this issue portrays them, but either way it's creepy/cool. Night of Owls ought to be craziness. STAR
Wonder Woman #6
Loved this chapter, but not its art. Cliff Chiang is still taking time off, and this visuals and transitions aren't as strong as I'm used to for Wonder Woman. Still, the plot of #6 was really cool - Diana and Lennox work together to have Poseidon, Hades, and Hera clash over rule of Olympus, and ensuing clusterfuck results in one god crippled, one god amused, and one god disgruntled with no real winner among the three. It's that last, bitter god that looks to drive the next arc of the story, and I couldn't be happier with what the direction and tone Wonder Woman is taking. MVP
Supergirl #6
Perhaps the weakest issue of Supergirl yet, I'm afraid. We get some clumsily-inserted flashbacks to Supergirl's past, and she somehow has a conversation with a hologram of her father. Then, despite her powers waning and being near-dead, Supergirl manages to return to Earth anyway to fight Reign, who has conveniently put up a force field and has brought her Worldkiller buddies along. I hope this was only a small hiccup and not a trend - this issue was disorganized and full of plot holes, and overall a disappointment. Next issue will be alien fights, which is OK I guess. FUNK
One Piece ch.657
Well, it was crazy last week, and now it's crazier. Luffy, Zoro, Robin, and Usopp enjoy a dragon steak on the fire half of the ridiculous New World island while trying to chase down a sprinting lower torso of a samurai. Meanwhile, on the ice half of the island, Sanji, Nami, and Chopper meet the same samurai's severed head (further chopped into 9 pieces, then assembled like a puzzle). Then the chapter ends when Sanji's team discovers a room full of giant babies. Brook wasn't captured because, well, he's just bones. I can't make this shit up. GLUE
Naruto ch.574
Some action off center stage this week in Naruto, as we see what team Hebi/Taka is up to. It had been so long that I forgot their names, but each of them is still a crafty, powerful psychopath, Sasuke moreso than the others. I'm sure some people appreciated this gaiden chapter, but I would've preferred to see more from the war's final confrontations instead (either the Jinchuurikis vs. Tobi or the Kages vs. Madara). Meh. FUNK
Bleach ch.481
Good continuation of the new arc's beginning. We see our quartet of human warriors (who, really, are my favorite of all the silly Bleach groups) hanging out with the rescued shinigami, and an introduction from a new character that looks to be a powerful Arrancar (my second-favorite of all the silly Bleach groups). Dunno if he's an ally or villain yet, but more likely villain due to all the random Hollow attacks going on. So far I'm digging Bleach's "final" story and would like to see some more. GLUE
Toriko ch.175
Silly chapter, but it's Toriko so I won't hate. Toriko, Komatsu, Koko, Sunny, and Zebura all go ice fishing, and the four kings each use their powers and lose out to Komatsu's ridiculous "food luck" and it's silly as shit. Not a whole lot went on so this is a sub-par chapter overall. Still, Zebura's newly-revealed full course is so ridiculous that I wonder if this manga has the wrong namesake / main character. FUNK
Beelzebub ch.144
Fabulous comedy chapter. More out of Kanzaki's ridiculous Yakuza family, and there is so much great comedy potential for his awful spoiled niece that I am already laughing at what next week will bring. Great moments out of all the core characters, and one of the funniest chapters of anything this week. STAR
Hajime no Ippo ch.965+966
Good stuff from Ippo this week. Itagaki is showing off some of the best head games in the series yet, and Kuroda and the rest of the onlookers provide good commentary that doesn't seem overdone. This is exactly what I wanted out of this fight. STAR
Kimi no Iru Machi ch.169
Weird, uncomfortable tone at the start of this chapter that totally makes sense when you reach the end. Major re-visitation of Kimi's big story arc from the last two years, plus the first appearances of Asuka and Kiyomi in a long time. Setup chapter, but oh man serious shit next week. GLUE
History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi ch.464
Some dramatic combat in this chapter, but no huge master throwdown yet. Kenichi is at his most selfless, blocking sword strikes with his arms and body directly, and predictably Miu finally comes to her senses. Good drama and decent combat in this chapter, but I'm more looking forward to the Jenazad battle we have coming in the next few weeks. GLUE

Still working on a number of RPGs at present, and I hope to wrap them all up by the time my birthday rolls around at the end of the month. The more time I can set aside for Mass Effect 3, the better.
