GOT 'IM - Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4

Here's a review of a game I finished last weekend within 48 hours of obtaining it.  I was that hooked, and it was that good.  Let's talk about Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4.

 I haven't written a review yet, but Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4 is one of the best games I've played this year and one of the best RPGs in recent memory.  It's excellent.  But when I hear about it, one question always comes up:

Do I have to play the first three before I play this one?

The short answer is: probably not.  Rain-Slick 4 briefly recaps the first three games and then drops you in the Underhell to get on with your adventure.  But in case you're a gamer who prefers a thorough understanding of a series before you jump into a sequel (sometimes I'm that guy), Monsoon is here for you. I'll recap the events of the first TWO Penny Arcade Adventures games so you can get on with the third and fourth titles, which represent a change in direction and in presentation for the series. Sure, you could always check Wikipedia, but I'm doing this for me. Not just you.

Oh damn, it's been over a month and I am so very behind on blog posts. This is one of four that I'll hopefully roll out before I leave town for a wedding this weekend, so I have a lot of writing in my immediate future. Thirty Two - Cthulhu's Angels

Here's a cop-out of a post. I apologize in advance. This is going to be half a review of one of the bonus modes in Cthulhu Saves the World (sorry!) and half a meditation on bonus modes such as this one.

Twenty Four - Cthulhu Saves the World

Game #24 is quite similar to Game #23, and they were worth every penny of the $3 I spent on them. The full title is Cthulu Saves the World: Super Hyper Enhanced Championship Edition Alpha Diamond DX Plus Alpha FES HD - Premium Enhanced Game of the Year Collector's Edition (without Avatars!), but I'll just refer to it by those first four words.

Twenty Three - Breath of Death VII: The Beginning

Breath of Death VII: The Beginning might be the best $3 I've ever spent. On a game, at least. It's brief, but makes up for that by being a funny, nostalgic, solid overall RPG experience.
