Gaming Goals of 2015

Well, my gaming quest in 2014 went better than 2013, but it wasn't perfect.  I had a major lull in July and August, and only completed 71% of my goal.  Not great. And that's on the condition that I finish XenoBlade soon.  It's a new year, which means a new set of targets.

GOT 'IM - Persona 4: Arena Ultimax

I think I get some kind of license revoked if I don't get a new favorite fighting game once a year.  Last year it was the first Persona 4 Arena game, and now it's the second one.

GOT 'IM - Persona 2: Innocent Sin

Woof.  That Bravely Default was in limbo for over a month.  This one was much easier to write, as it was fresher in my mind.  I beat this game in October instead of August!  Behold, the "lost" Persona game, Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

GOT 'IM - Bravely Default

Nope, still not a 2014 target game, but it was definitely most of my August gaming.  Whoops, it's December now, isn't it?  Oh well.  Here's a review of the current hours leader in my 3DS by a longshot, Bravely Default.

What Games I'm Buying in 2015

I wrote one of these blog posts last year (just replace the "5" with a "4" in the title to this post), but failed to reach my spending goals.  I wasn't as bad as I was in 2013, but there is still plenty room for improvement.  I need to focus on improving my spending habits in a major way, and one of the first things to cut is video games.  So here's a post on how I'm going to do it.

The Five Greatest Mysteries of One Piece

When was the last time I wrote a blog post about comics in general, or containing One Piece in particular?  Not sure.  At least a year.  Well, it's been about ten years since I began reading One Piece, so I'll write a quickie list commemorating it.  Why not?

I'm on RPGFan!

Extreme quickie here.  Not even going to create a page break.  I'm overjoyed to announce that I have been hired as a contributing music editor at RPGFan.com at a salary of zero dollars per hour.  I'll be writing reviews of game music albums and assisting with building the RPGFan Music section.  Gonna be a good time!  Here's my RPGFan profile page and here's my first album review on the site.

I'll still update this blog with game reviews (GOT 'IM), game articles, comics articles, lists of things, and my general thoughts, but I'll be spending some of my free time in which I'd normally write this blog on RPGFan projects.  I won't post here every time I do something for RPGFan, but I will do so on Twitter.  The goal is one review per month, plus background stuff like helping with data entry for their database.

So that's that.  I'm still playing XenoBlade, plus I started up playthroughs of the new Dragon Age and an old Dragon Quest.  Currently writing a Bravely Default review, which will hopefully be followed by the other two or three reviews I have in the pipeline before Thanksgiving.  Yeesh.  I need to do some more writing this week.  Happy gaming, everyone!
